Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre to stage Verdi`s “Il trovatore ”

Baku, February 5 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijani State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater will stage opera “Il trovatore” by Giuseppe Verdi on February 23. Leading opera soloists from Russia and Belarus have been invited to take part in the play which is the part of the repertoire of major opera houses in the world and always enjoys great love and interest of the audience. Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, the leading soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Russia and Belarus Anastasia Moskvina will sing the role of Leonora. Honored artist of the Russian Federation, soloist of the Mariinsky National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet Avgust Amonov will play the role of Manrico. Russian opera, ballet and symphony conductor Konstantin Chudovsky will conduct the play. People`s Artist of Azerbaijan Avaz Abdullayev and Honorary Artist Sabina Vahabzade will sing the parties of Count di Luna and Azucena. Il trovatore (The Troubadour) is an opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Salvadore Cammarano, based on the play El Trovador (1836) by Antonio García Gutiérrez. Cammarano died in mid-1852 before completing the libretto.
