Azerbaijan, UK explore prospects for agrarian cooperation

Baku, September 18, AZERTAC Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Agriculture Seyfaddin Talibov has met UK`s Deputy Ambassador Stephen Mc Cony to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the agrarian sphere. Ambassador Talibov highlighted what the Azerbaijani government is doing to develop the agrarian sector. He stressed the necessity of signing a memorandum of understanding between the two countries' ministries of agriculture. “Eight scientific research institutes are currently operating under the Ministry of Agriculture. The laboratories of these institutions need to be provided with state-of-the-art equipment, and UK can support us on this front.” Talibov underlining the appropriateness of building direct contacts between Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and British universities. He noted the importance of studying UK's experience in organizing agrarian information and advice centers in Azerbaijani regions.
