Azerbaijani and Iranian FMs discuss situation on border

Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 27 Trend: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov held a meeting with Iran's counterpart Javad Zarif in Tehran within the 21st meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Economic Cooperation on Tuesday, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported today. According to the information, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry welcomes the recent results of the meeting of the next round of talks in Geneva with the participation of Iran's Foreign Minister and "Six" and stressed their positive development. Zarif congratulated the Azerbaijani people with successful presidential election on Oct. 9. During the meeting they discussed issues of energy, culture, education and other areas of cooperation on a bilateral basis. An agreement was reached to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on cooperation in the near future. The views on the situation on the border were exchanged between the foreign ministers. Mammadyarov invited Zarif to visit Azerbaijan. Zarif accepted the invitation with pleasure.
