Azerbaijani delegate attends UNESCO`s meeting of intergovernmental working group

Baku, October 24 (AzerTAc). Head of the section of international links at Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism Vasif Eyvazzade has participated in a meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. With financial support from the Government of Japan through the Intangible Cultural Heritage Fund, the working group met in UNESCO Headquarters. This meeting provided an opportunity for experts identified by each State Party to begin reflecting upon this important topic. General discussion took place during the second day of the meeting, allowing States Parties to reflect on the questions raised during the drafting and implementation of the Convention. The results of the discussion will be presented to the seventh session of the Committee to be held in UNESCO`s Headquarters in Paris from 3 to 7 December 2012. Mr. Eyvazzade, as part of the visit, met Senior Advisor Strategic Development and Partnerships at the United Nations Jean-Christophe Bas and the representatives of UNESCO. They discussed preparatory works for Second Intercultural Dialogue to be held in Baku in 2013.
