Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture attending International Agriculture Fair of Paris

Baku, March 1 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov is visiting France to attend the 50th International Agricultural Fair in Paris, France. The Minister attended SIMA 2013 show (International Agri-Business Show) took place at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Park.  Profile for exhibit included horticulture and floriculture, information technology products, seed and biotechnology, fertilizers & micronutrients, pesticides & PGR, agro and rural industries, rural consumer products, farm machinery, animal husbandry & fisheries, agriculture research & extension, rural Institution & NGOs, animal feed & veterinary products, sugar & bi-products dairy and processed food, banks & financial sectors and poultry & poultry products. As a part of the event, Minister Abasov has met with fair`s director general Ms. Valery Lobry Granger. During the meeting, Azeri Minister spoke of Azerbaijan`s agricultural sector which is one of the priorities of country`s economy and state`s support to this field. Minister Abasov has also met with manager of the fair Ms. Martine Degremont. During the meeting, Ms. Degremont invited Azerbaijani specialists and entrepreneurs to take part at the Wine Trade Show in Montpellier, France, to be due in November, 2013. At the same time Azerbaijani Minister has also invited the French site to participate at the 2nd Wine International Festival which is expected to be held in November in Ganja city, the second largest city of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan`s Agriculture Minister familiarized himself with various agricultural techniques being exhibited at the fair. Minister also met with Burgundian Corporation and Export Group`s manager Jean Lui Riot, who in detail informed the Azerbaijani minister about Burgundy's Charolais cattle. The meeting also saw discussions on imports of Charolais cattle to Azerbaijan.
