Azerbaijani movie to be shown at Kinoshock Festival

Baku, September 3 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan will be represented by the “Steppe man” (Çölçü), a movie by Azerbaijani filmmakers, at the 21st international Kinoshock film festival. The 2012 Kinoshock Film Awards Ceremony will be held in Anapa city, Russia on September 15-23, 2012. All award-winning films and filmmakers will be announced publicly and to the media at this time. Non-profitable organization “Festival “Kinoshock” organizers and carries out the Open Film Festival of CIS countries, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia "Kinoshock” under support of the Russian Government, CIS Executive Committee, Ministry of Culture and mass communications of Russia, Federal Agency on culture and cinematography (Roskultura), Administrations of the Krasnodar region and Anapa town. The festival aims to find and support gifted filmmakers in all fields of cinema art whose works are characterized by esthetic achievements and spirituality, to promote national cinema as well as cultural exchange and mutual understanding among nations and to develop further cooperation among filmmakers of CIS countries, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. The festival is created in order to move European cinema on the world film market by means of the different cultural measures, which include not only competitive programs, showings, the ceremony of rewardings, but also cinema- scientific studies, publication and seminary. The films for the Festival program are selected by the Selection Committee whose decision is final. The film screening schedule will be determined by the Festival Management. Only films produced not earlier than 15 month prior the festival will be accepted for Competition programs. Prints of the films accepted for Competition and trailers should be in possession of the Festival Management before September 1 of the current year. The film starring Vidadi Hasanov, Bahruz Vagifoglu, Javidan Mammadli, Vusal Mehraliyev (Azerbaijan), Salume Demuriya (Georgia) and the others was shot by the Azeri film director Shamil Aliyev. The films “Lighthouse” (Mayak) by Fariz Ahmadov, “The Aim” by Samir Kerimoglu, “The 40th door” by Elchin Musaoglu will be shown as part of the festival.
