Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Belarus arranges series of events to mark Khojaly genocide`s 20th anniversary

Baku, February 26 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Belarus has organized a series of events to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. Since early February, the Embassy distributed press-releases among diplomatic representations accredited to Belarus and media outlets. The Azerbaijani Embassy arranged commemorative events in Gomel, Bobruysk and Zhlobin cities of the country on February 21-24. The events brought together members of the Azerbaijani community, students and journalists. The event participants were briefed on the history of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan. They were also handed over various documents featuring the Khojaly tragedy. A press conference on the Khojaly genocide was held on February 21 in the Embassy with participation of representatives of about 15 media outlets. Ambassador Isfandiyar Vahabzade spoke of the atrocities committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan. A seminar on “Tragedies of modern era and problems of globalization” was held on February 24 in Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University. The event brought together intellectuals, journalists, members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations and students. Ambassador Vahabzade spoke at the event on the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan. All events organized by the Embassy were covered by leading media outlets of Belarus.
