Azeri human rights commissioner attends seminar in France

Baku, May 16 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijani ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova participated in an international seminar on the role of Ombudsman institution within the European Union`s Eastern Partnership program. According to Azerbaijan Ombudsman`s Office, the seminar featured sessions on protection of child rights, rules of security, controls, relations with person lodging complaint, cooperation of institutions, the right to health care and health protection and other issues. Elmira Suleymanova made a report on implementing reforms in the direction of human rights protection in Azerbaijan, the country`s international cooperation and its active participation within Eastern Partnership and Twinning programs of the European Union. Azerbaijani ombudsperson also noted the coutry`s Ombudsman`s Office relationship with Ombudsman institutions in Poland and Germany stressing the importance of reciprocal visits and experience exchange. Participants visited the Office of Inspector General of French Prison Service and Orphanage in Paris as part of the seminar.
