Azeri president in Tehran

Tehran, April 9, IRNA - Azerbaijanˈs President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Tehran on Wednesday on an official visit to hold talks with senior Iranian officials. Upon his arrival, Aliyev was welcomed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi. The visit is taking place at the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani. President Aliyev will be officially welcomed by his counterpar at Saadabad Historical Cultural Complex later today. During the visit, the two presidents will discuss issues of mutual interest as well as the latest regional and international developments. The two leaders are also expected to sign several agreements on Tehran-Baku trade and economic cooperation. Following the last June presidential elections in Iran which led to election of President Rouhani, the countryˈs regional policies have undergone a major development regarding promotion of ties with neighboring countries. Iran and Azerbaijan are determined to boost cooperation in various areas.
