AZERTAC pays tribute to national leader Heydar Aliyev

Baku, December 12, AZERTAC Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) held a ceremony to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the passing of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The ceremony participants laid flowers at the great leader`s bust in AZERTAC foyer and observed a minute`s silence for him. Addressing the event, AZERTAC Chairman of Board Aslan Aslanov highlighted national leader Heydar Aliyev`s exceptional role in the history of Azerbaijan. He said the great leader`s return to power in 1993 marked a turning point in Azerbaijan`s modern history. “It encouraged revival in all areas of the country`s life. Azerbaijan embarked on building a constitutional, secular and democratic state, and established a perfect system of foreign relations.” Aslan Aslanov said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the national leader`s strategy. The chairman of Board also shared his memories of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Aslan Aslanov said he accompanied the great leader on the vast majority of his local and foreign visits from 1993 to 2002. Other ceremony participants highlighted national leader Heydar Aliyev`s crucial role in saving Azerbaijan from collapse, as well as his care of youth and tireless efforts to develop science, education, and sports in the country.
