BACA president receives German ambassador

Manama, May 30 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received here today the German Ambassador to Bahrain, Alfred Simms-Protz. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in order to attain joint cultural achievements. BACA president stressed Bahrain’s constant desire to develop its civilisational relations with other peoples, noting that cooperation between BACA and the German Embassy here would shorten distances between the two friendly peoples. Shaikha Mai updated the ambassador about the latest cultural developments in the kingdom, especially Manama’s hosting of the 42nd session of the World Heritage Committee, and the launch of the Bahrain Summer Festival. The German Ambassador commended BACA’s efforts to enhance cultural exchange with countries all over the world, stressing that such endeavours have consolidated Bahrain’s reputation as a cultural centre. He also expressed his constant readiness to cooperate with BACA in order to enrich the cultural scene in the kingdom.
