Badiozzaman Foruzanfar Literary Awards winners announced

TEHRAN,Dec.5(MNA) – Organizers of the first edition of the Badiozzaman Foruzanfar Literary Awards announced the winners during a ceremony at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) on Tuesday. Mohammadreza Shafiei Kadkani, Mir Jalaleddin Kazzazi, Tofiq Sobhani, Ahmad Mojahed and Kazem Mohammadi were among the winners in the literature section, Persian media announced on Wednesday. Manijeh Armin was the lone winner in the research section. In the music category, the awards went to Shahram Nazeri, Abdolhossein Mokhtabad, Nushin Pasdar, Mehdi Khamseh and several others. Mohammad-Ebrahim Jafari was also among the winners in the painting section. TMCA director Ehsan Aqaii and Hassan Bolkhari, a representative from Bank Pasargad, were also honored at the ceremony. The award was established by the Foruzanfar Foundation in 2012 to honor poets, writers and artists who have had major roles in the development and promotion of Persian literature. It was named after the Persian literature scholar Badiozzaman Foruzanfar (1904-1970). He was also an expert on Persian poet and mystic Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273).
