Bahrain’s hajj quota includes 3,700 pilgrims

Manama, July 29 (BNA): The official Bahrain hajj quota for this year (2016) has remained unchanged. A total of 3,700 Bahrainis and expatriates will travel to Saudi Arabia to perform pilgrimage. Hajj delegation chief and Sharia Court of Cassation Judge Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al-Qattan said that 57 contractors have been allocated for Bahraini pilgrims and 7 for expatriates. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he said that the Saudi authorities will supply all pilgrims with special hi-tech ID electronic bracelets featuring all their data. Shaikh Al-Qattan said that tough security measures would be enforced at all Saudi entry points to clamp down on illegal hajj contractors, adding most of them are compliant and committed to the rules and regulations. He said that the follow-up and evaluation committee will head to Saudi Arabia within ten days to assess Bahrain pilgrims’ accommodation.
