Bahrain’s human rights strides highlighted

Manama, Aug.23 (BNA): Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al-Doseri, delivered a lecture today to a number of officials from the Ministry of Interior, highlighting Bahrain’s human rights achievements. He stressed the role of Bahraini diplomacy in protecting national interests and supporting all efforts aimed at achieving stability and enhancing security. “Bahrain guarantees all human rights without exception, and promotes justice and equality”, he said, stressing the Kingdom's legal obligations that are based on respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. Addressing the event, he said that Bahrain has taken all the appropriate measures to protect these rights and ensure that they are not violated. He commended the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Government's Action Plan (GPA-2019-2022), which focuses on protecting the gains under the fiscal balance programme, strengthening the basic principles of the state and society, ensuring financial sustainability and economic development. Al-Doseri affirmed Bahrain's respect for the rules of international law and international human rights law, stressing preparations for the universal periodic review and the national reports which are submitted in accordance with the highest international standards.
