Bahrain attends 2nd MENAPAR conference

Tunis, Oct.7 (BNA): Bahrain’s landmark administrative strides and outstanding practices today came under the spotlight in a major conference in Tunisia. "Bahrain has achieved an unprecedented development in administrative policies by enforcing accountability and promoting the culture of excellence and quality standards in the public sector", said Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa. This came as he attended the inaugural session of the 2nd Conference of the Middle East and North-Africa Public Administration Research Network (MENAPAR), being held in Tunis on October 6-9. Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid is patronising the symposium, being organized by Bahrain Institute for Public Administration (BIPA) in cooperation with the Tunis-based Arab Governance Institute (AGI) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He paid tribute to the wise leadership and the Government for spearheading Bahrain’s administrative strides, which placed the Kingdom on the international map of public administration. He urged more international efforts to enhance government performance and promote public policies and decisions that best serve citizens’ interests, stressing the importance of disseminating administrative governance practices, work excellence and building strategic alliances with international powerhouses. Bahrain hosted the first Middle East and North-Africa Public Administration Research Network (MENAPAR) on April 23-24 last year.
