Bahrain attends Arab judicial meeting

Cairo, May 29 (BNA): A protocol on the establishment of an Arab union for administrative courts will be on the agenda of a key conference, scheduled to open tomorrow (May30) in Cairo, Egypt. Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) Chairman, President of the Court of Cassation Salim bin Mohammed Al-Kawari will lead Bahrain’s delegation to the two-day meeting, which will conclude on Sunday (May 31). In a statement on this occasion, he said that the final draft of the scheme would be approved, pointing out that the reform project, which was initiated by His Majesty the King, aims at developing the judiciary and ensuring its independence to be able to meet challenges. "Bahrain welcomes this conference as part of efforts to enhance the judicial system and bolster pan-Arab unity in all fields", said Al-Kawari, who is leading delegation comprising High Civil Court of Appeal Judge Jumaa Abdulla Al-Moussa and Hesham Al-Qaisi, Head of the office of Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) Chairman, President of the Court of Cassation. Al-Kawari stressed the importance of the planned pan-Arab panel, pointing out that an international centre would be established to train judges and administrative court personnel in the Arab states.
