Bahrain attends world heritage meeting

July 1(BNA): Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH) is attending the 39th session the World Heritage Committee, which opened on June 28 and will run until July 8 in Bonn, Germany. Led by (ARC-WH) Director Dr. Mounir Boushnaqi, Bahrain delegation met World Heritage Committee Arab Unit chief Nada Al-Hassan and discussed nominating Arab sites to feature on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Dr. Mounir Boushnaqi held talks with The International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) Director-General Dr. Stefano De Caro and discussed future cooperation. The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), a non-governmental international organization dedicated to the conservation of the world's monuments and site, held a forum titled "Natural Water Heritage in the Middle East and Arab Maghreb". The symposium focused on a (ARC-WH)-study which spotlighted water-management in Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia the UAE, Kuwait, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq.
