Bahrain, IAEA discuss cooperation

Manama, Nov 30 (BNA): Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Al-Hassan today received IAEA's Nuclear Security Department Director Khammar Mrabit accompanied with Advisor for Radiation Affairs at the Supreme Council of the environment, Samer Al-Kharouf. Aspects of cooperation between the IAEA and the National Committee to Combat Disasters to promote the national efforts to achieve the means of prevention and protection from radioactive contamination were discussed, as well as ways to develop the capacity to monitor any radioactive contamination and radiological emergency response. Establishing crime scene teams to investigate the incidents of radioactive contamination and to protect the national environment from the same incidents were also reviewed.
