Bahrain-Jordan labour cooperation discussed

Amman, May 1 (BNA): Jordanian Labour Minister Dr. Nidal Kattamin has expressed his country's readiness to supply the Bahraini labour market with qualified and trained workforce, as well as with expertise in the fields of safety and occupational health and inspection mechanisms adopted by the Labour Ministry. This came as a Bahraini parliamentary delegation, led by the Chairman of the Services Committee at the Council of Representatives MP Abbas Al-Madhi, visited the Jordanian Labour Ministry to discuss the existing areas of bilateral labour cooperation, and ways to enhance them. According to the Jordanian news agency (Petra), the minister briefed the delegation on the labour market in his country, especially regarding employment, training, expatriate workers and unemployment. Petra quoted the heads of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the Jordan Chamber of Industry and the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions as highlighting the importance of the meeting in opening new horizons of cooperation between the two countries in the trade and industrial fields. The kingdom's delegation comprised MP Mohammed Al-Maarifi, the Deputy Chairman of the Services Committee, and members MPs Osama Al-Khaja and Ali Al-Moqla.
