Bahrain to mark Night of Destiny on June 11

Manama, June 3 (BNA): Bahrain will celebrate the Night of Destiny (Laylat Al Qadr) on the 11th of June, announced the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments. The Directorate of Religious Affairs will organise a ceremony after Taraweeh prayers at Ahmed Al-Fateh Islamic Centre, under the patronage of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) President Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa.  Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Dr. Fareed bin Yacoub Al-Meftah stressed the significance of the Night of Destiny, also known as Laylat Al Qadr, an Islamic observance that marks the anniversary of the night Prophet Mohammed received the first verses of (Qu'ran).  The programme includes Quran recitation by Shaikh Khalid Banshi. Court of Cassation judge Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al-Qattan and Jaffari Court of Cassation Judge Shaikh Nasser Al-Asfoor will address the ceremony. Dr. Al-Meftah urged citizens and residents to attend the religious event.
