Bahrain, Thailand hold semi-annual meeting

Manama, Aug. 7 (BNA): The semi-annual meeting to follow up the results of the third meeting of the Joint Committee of Bilateral Cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. The meeting was held with the participation of the Assistant Undersecretary for Western Countries & Afro Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ambassador Tawfeeq Ahmed Al Mansoor represented the Bahraini side, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr. Damrong Kraikruan represented the Thai side.  The two sides expressed their pride and appreciation of the progress and growth of the strong bilateral relations in various fields, namely healthcare, medicine, trade, investment, food security, and energy, reviewing the ways to further strengthen those relations and elevate them to meet the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples, and affirming the importance of exchanging official visits.  They also hailed the successful outcomes of the Joint Steering Committee which was established following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two kingdoms on July 5th, 2018 in Bangkok on cooperation in the fields of food security, trade, and investment and agricultural products and goods.  Representatives of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism participated in the meeting as well.
