Bahraini-Indonesian cooperation discussed

Jakarta, Apr. 24 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has affirmed the Parliament's keen interest in enhancing Bahraini-Indonesian relations, adding that promoting joint parliamentary cooperation, boosting the trade exchange and supporting bilateral tourism will be among the priorities on the agenda of the joint Parliamentary Friendship Committee. Al-Mulla said that expatriates in Bahrain contribute to the development process in all fields and have rights and duties, affirming the keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government’s on promoting bilateral political relations. He valued Indonesia’s unwavering stance in supporting Arab and Islamic causes, especially the Palestinian one. This came during the press conference held by Bahrain parliamentary delegation today under the chairmanship of Al-Mulla, as a part of his participation in Asia-Africa Parliamentary Conference held in Jakarta, in the presence of the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto and the delegation’s members. Al-Mulla expressed the Representatives Council's aspiration to promote bilateral agreements, develop economic and investment relations, increase trade exchange in all fields and upgrade joint investment. He expressed hope that the Indonesian Speaker and members of the joint Parliamentary Friendship Committee will pay a visit to Bahrain to activate the committee’s work and hold bilateral meetings to consolidate joint parliamentary cooperation.
