Bahraini-Russian cooperation highlighted

Manama, Aug 2 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, today received Russian Ambassador to Bahrain, Vagif Garaev, and stressed that the growing Bahraini-Russian relations stem from the keenness of the two leaderships to develop them in various fields. Deputy Premier pointed out the visits made by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to Moscow in 2014 and meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Where the two sides signed a direct air service agreements. He noted the many other positive results which have begun to yield in economic and trade fields. He emphasized providing the support needed to assist the Russian Ambassador in performing his mission in Bahrain. Russian Ambassador underlined bolstering bilateral relations, especially 10 MoU in various areas have been signed between the two countries, including military and technology cooperation. He expressed optimism that bilateral cooperation will lead the two countries to reach an understanding to exempt citizens of both countries from obtaining entry visas with the aim of encouraging intra tourism through benefiting from Gulf Air direct air service between the two countries. He expressed his country's denunciation of Sitra terror bombing, which left two policemen dead and others injured. And rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism which is contrary to international laws and norms, calling for adopting peaceful dialogue as guaranteed by local laws without the influence of foreign interference. The meeting also reviewed topics of joint interest.
