Bahraini-Saudi media cooperation lauded

Riyadh, May 26 (BNA): First Vice President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) and Acting Director of Bahrain News Agency (BNA) Mohannad Suleiman Al Nuaimi said the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) is ushering in a new and important phase of ongoing development since its inception 47 years ago. He was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the agency's new premises at Al-Sahafa District, north of the Saudi capital Riyadh, which was held under the auspices of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The inauguration ceremony was attended by a host of Saudi media figures as well as writers and journalists from the Arab and GCC countries. Al Nuaimi praised the unrelenting and effective work of SPA despite regional challenges and the changes undergone by the media sector. He said after touring the agency's new state-of-the-art premises that the new venue represents and added value not only to SPA and the media sector in Saudi Arabia but also to all Arab and GCC media work. He lauded the new premises' high-tech facilities, paying tribute to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his unflinching support to the media sector to help it exercise its role in serving the kingdom and the Islamic nation and meeting the requirements of the fast-paced telecommunication revolution. The BNA Acting Director commended the role of SPA, under the leadership of its President Abdullah bin Fahad Al Hussain, in covering regional and international events thanks to its diverse and broad network of correspondents in Saudi Arabia and abroad. He also praised the efforts of the President of SPA in modernising the agency to help it keep abreast of technological development. He underlined deep-rooted fraternal relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and the leaderships' keenness to further cement them, pointing out growing cooperation between both countries in all fields, including the media sector. He also stressed the importance of cooperation between BNA and SPA and keenness to further enhance it out of belief that strong media is the front line in defending the nation.
