Bahraini women empowerment discussed

Manama, Apr.17 (BNA) Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Secretary-General Hala Al-Ansari received Standard Chartered Bank director-general for Human Resources, Compliance and Communication Tracy Clarke, in the presence of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hassan Jarrar. A visual presentation was showcased, shedding light on the SCW-led steps to implement the national model which aims at integrating the needs of women, in partnership with relevant parties, particularly the private sector. The presentation also focused on the national strategy to empower Bahraini women, integrate their needs in development programmes, achieve family stability, and promote gender equal opportunities. The two sides also discussed the planned festivities marking the 2015 Bahrain Women's Day, which will celebrate women's achievements in the financial and banking sectors. Standard Chartered Bank, the first commercial bank to establish in Bahrain in 1920, launched initiatives to promote the status of women as decision-makers .
