Bahraini women empowerment hailed

Manama, Apr 24 (BNA) – Chairperson of Council of Representatives' Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee , Sawsan Taqawi, underlined the huge role of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), chaired by wife of HM the King, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, in supporting and empowering Bahraini women, according to various international reports. MP Tagawi praised the legislative branch and government's joint cooperation to achieve the vision of the political leadership in supporting the rights and meeting the aspirations of Bahraini women. MP Tagawi commended the efforts of the SCW's Secretariat, led by Hala Al-Ansari, in the implementation of the national strategy for the advancement of Bahraini women. She hailed the political empowerment of Bahraini women, implemented by SCW's Secretariat, which contributes to raise legal and constitutional awareness level of Bahraini women wish to run for the upcoming elections, and underscored women's parliamentary role in local and international activities.
