Bahrain's UN-based Permanent Mission hosts discussion session

New York, Oct. 28 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain's Permanent Mission to the United Nations here in New York has hosted a discussion session in association with the UNSC-affiliated Counterterrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED). The discussion dealt with ways to combat terrorism and reviewed the concerted efforts being exerted internationally to fight terrorism and strengthen the measures aimed at drying up terrorist groups’ financing sources to deprive them of any form of financial support. The discussion also tackled the need for the countries of the world to exchange information about the organizations and groups that plan or practice terrorist acts. During the seminar, the Chairman of the Executive Directorate of the Counter-Terrorism Department, Ahmed Esmat Seif al-Dawla, and Legal Expert, Nicole Khoury, gave presentations on the international strategy to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Also taking part in the discussion panel were experts from the GCC and world Permanent Missions to the United Nations in New York and the diplomats taking part in the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.
