Baku hosts event marking 70th jubilee of Peoples Artist of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloglu

Baku February 5, AzerTAc An event marking the 70th jubilee of the Peoples Artist of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloglu has been held in Baku. The event brought together State and Governmental officials, MPS, scientific and cultural figures and representatives of the society. Peoples Artist of USSR, Russian singer Iosif Kobzon, honorary Artist of Russia Bari Alibasov, composer Eugen Doga, Peoples Artist Lyudmila Rumina, Peoples Artist of Tajikistan Jurabek Murodov, and USSR State Prize winner Andrey Dementyev attended the event. The state Symphony Orchestra named Uzeyir Hajibeyli performed during the event. Polad Bulbuloglu performed his famous song “Azerbaijan”. Then, he spoke about care and attention of national leader Heydar Aliyev to his generation. Polad Bulbuloglu said political course of national leader Heydar Aliyev today is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. He thanked President Ilham Aliyev and first lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva for appreciation of his activity. Russian President's special envoy for international cultural cooperation with foreign countries, Mikhail Shvidkoy, said, according to relevant order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu was awarded with the “Order of Honor” for his contribution to strengthening cooperation and friendship with Russia and developing cultural relations. Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Nikolay Pastkevich read out a congratulatory letter of President Alexander Lukashenko to Polad Bulbuloglu. The attendees heard the congratulatory messages by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Chairman of the State Duma - Sergey Naryshkin, Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, and President of the Russian Federation’s Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov. Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia Levan Kharatishvili congratulated Polad Bulbuloglu. Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov highlighted the activity of Peoples Artist of Azerbaijan. President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli said Polad Bulbuloglu was honored with the medal of the Academy. Rector at Moscow State University for Economics and the Humanities Vagif Bairamov congratulated Polad Bulbuloglu and said he was honored an Honorary Professor of the University. Polad Murtuza oglu Mammadov was born on February 4, 1945 in Baku Azerbaijan. Polad studied the piano in a music school and then studied composing in the Baku Academy of Music, under Gara Garayev. By the age of 17 he composed several songs that were performed by professionals, as well as songs for his friend Muslim Magomayev. In his career, Bulbuloglu combined modern music style with national Azeri music to create a new musical stream in the Soviet Union.
