Bangkok China Town to hold biggest Vegetarian Festival 2015

BANGKOK, Oct 3 (TNA) -- The Vegetarian Festival set to be held between October 12-21 this year at Bangkok's China Town or Yaowarat where the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is expecting the 10-day festival to generate over 50 million baht of revenue. Deputy Bangkok Governor Pusadee Tarmthai presided over the press conference to announce to the public the Vegetarian Festival 2015, which would be organised by the Samphanthawong District Office and Cultural Office of Samphanthawong district. The event is scheduled from October 12-21, all day and night, starting from the entrance of China Town all along the Yaowarat road. The deputy governor said the organisers have also thought up of a special vegetarian menu, which would be a fried noodle dish made with hand-made noodles to symbolise the history and ancentry of the Thai of Chinese descents. The noodles would be fried in a super-size wok which would be able to around 1,999 dish of the noodles to visitors attending the festival. Visitors would be able to enjoy a beautiful parade of the Goddess of Mercy, lion and dragon dances, as well as shop for delicious vegetarian dishes. The BMA is expected over 100,000 visitors to turn up to the festival, generating a revenue of over 50 million baht. (TNA)
