Bangkok to have new library

BANGKOK, Feb 28 (TNA) - Bangkokians will be able to spend time at a new library on Rajdamneon Avenue by the middle of 2017. Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) governor Mom Rajawongse Sukhumbhand Paripatra said the new library at Kok Wua intersection will store Thailand’s history and art for the people to learn. It will have the total area of 4,880 square metres and have four storeys. The first floor will display a permanent exhibition on the history and changes of Rajdamnoen Avenue as well as a library section for disabled persons. Literature books will be available for children on the second floor while foreign magazines and books will be available on the third floor. Books and literatures from ASEAN member countries will be available for bookworms on the top floor. Construction costs of the library are estimated at nearly 300 million baht while the library could be open for the public in the middle of 2017. (TNA)
