Bangkok hosts 14th ACD meeting

BANGKOK, March 8 (TNA) - Bangkok will host the 14th Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting, set during March 9-10, 2016, in which Nepal, the latest member economy, will participate for the first time. Thai Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sek Wannamethee told journalists on March 7 that during the two-day ACD meeting, Thailand will focus on sustainable development under the United Nations framework and related issues and an amendment on cooperation among ACD members. The spokesman said representatives from member countries will also discuss constructive issues on all areas, except politics. Besides, participants in the ACD meeting will confer on major issues related to global economic volatility, natural disaster and measures to fight against deadly diseases, transnational crime and security threats for Asian countries. Currently, ACD has 34 members, with Nepal being its latest member economy. (TNA)
