Bangkok urged not to hoard goods ahead of shutdown

BANGKOK, January 12 (TNA) – Thailand’s Commerce Ministry urges Bangkok city not to panic and hoard goods in their homes as major retailers have confirmed there will be enough goods for supply for one month in the face of Monday's planned city-wide shutdown. The announcement came as anti-government protesters of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) prepare to seal off Bangkok in an attempt to oust the caretaker government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. Commerce Ministry officials said they earlier met with core protest leaders asking them not to block major transport routes in order to allow shops to restock on their inventories. (TNA)
