Bangkok's Big Motor Sale 2014 kicks off

BANGKOK, August 16 (TNA) - International visitors are now welcome to the nine-day Bangkok International Grand Motor Sale or "Big Motor Sale 2014", held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in the capital's Bang Na area from August 16-24, during which 47 world brands of cars and motorcycles, as well as spare parts are on display. Thai Permanent Secretary for Industry Witoon Simachokedee presided over the opening ceremony of the "Big Motor Sale 2014" on Saturday. Head of the event's organising team, Charuay Khanmanee, told reporters that he foresaw the nine-day "Big Motor Sale 2014", the largest of its kind in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN, should attract over one million international visitors, with its total sale value initially assessed at about 10 billion baht. Charuay revealed that leading brands of cars, trucks and motorcycles on display at the nine-day event are priced from less than one million baht to over 40 million baht, while premium-quality used cars of less than three years are also on show. Besides, leasing services from local financial institutes are also offered to car buyers, along with prizes to be presented to lucky visitors, totally worth over three million baht, namely three sedans and six motorcycles. According to the head of the event's organising team, the nine day "Big Motor Sale 2014" is also expected to help stimulate Thailand's economic growth in the second half of this year. (TNA)
