Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport pioneered as barriers-free for PWDs

BANGKOK, January 8 (TNA) - Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has resorted to Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport as its pilot project on providing barriers-free facilities and services for international persons with disabilities (PWDs). AOT Acting President Somchai Sawasdeepon told journalists on Tuesday that the pilot project has been launched in accordance with the Thai Ministry of Transport's policy on giving more importance to facilitating and taking care of PWDs, based on UN principles. Somchai said Don Mueang Airport's terminal building is, therefore, being improved to provide the barriers-free facilities and services to the international PWDs, including, ramps, over 30 restrooms and elevators.
