Bangkok:World Book Capital” fair set on April 21-23

BANGKOK, April 6 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), in cooperation with reading promotion networks, will organize the “Bangkok:World Book Capital” fair from April 21-23 at Siam Paragon shopping complex in the heart of the Thai capital, as part of the BMA's efforts to promote Bangkok as a “Reading Metropolis”. Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra told a press conference on Friday that the organizers are now ready to organize the three-day fair, as part of national celebrations and presentaion of Bangkok's potential as the "World Book Capital 2013" as designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as well as the International Publishers Association (IPA), the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and the International Booksellers Federation (IBF). A caravan of mobile library units, as well as PR vehicles and bicycles was also released, along with the press conference, to campaign on reading more books among people and to promote their reading habit.
