Belarus Wants Malaysia To Send Medical Students

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- Belarus is seeking Malaysian recognition for its medical degrees. This was conveyed by Belarus Ambassador to Malaysia Vladimir N. Lopato-Zagorsky when he visited Dewan Rakyat (the Lower House of Parliament) Deputy Speaker Ronald Kiandee at Parliament House on Tuesday (left). "He (Lopato-Zagorsky) said his government wanted to see Malaysian students pursue their studies at the Belarus universities and get their medical degrees there. "The ambassador also said Belarus had universities which were on par with other nations like Russia and Ukraine," Kiandee told reporters after the meeting. He said Lopato-Zagorsky also informed him that Belarus also accepted students from such countries like United States, Syria and India. Kiandee added that the Belarus government considered Malaysia an important nation in South East Asia which could be a "friend" in various fields including economics. Based in Jakarta (Indonesia), the Belarus ambassador is responsible for the embassies in Malaysia, the Philippines and Australia. Before this, Lapoto-Zagorsky had served as Belarus ambassador to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. (photoBERNAMA) --BERNAMA
