Bengkulu Dol Music Performed At Malaysian Matta Fair 2017

BENGKULU, March 21 (Antara) - The Bengkulu's music studio of Puspa Kencana Budaya performed the Dol music and the typical percussion of Bengkulu at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2017 in Kuala Lumpur. "We seek to promote the Bengkulu's Dol music to visitors of this international event," according to Bengkulu's deputy governor, Rohidin Mersyah, here on Monday. The Dol music entitled "Beruji Dol" was performed in the Hall I of the MATTA Fair of Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur. The Dol music, performed by five drummers and dancers, amazed thousands of tourism exhibition visitors. The Dol music is normally showcased during the Tabot ritual, which is held to welcome the Islamic New Year, the Muharram 1 in Bengkulu. On Sunday (March 19), Indonesia also promoted the East Java tourism destination to Malaysian public through MATTA Fair 2017 in Kuala Lumpur. Deputy of the Southeast Asia Market Development affairs at Tourism Ministry, Rizky Handayani, stated in Jakarta on Sunday that his side promoted East Java in the MATTA exhibition. The exhibition was held in Hall 3 of Putra World Trade Center (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, from March 17 to 19, 2017. "Indonesia has got an opportunity to showcase the Geleng Ro¿om Dance from East Java at MATTA opening ceremony," Rizki pointed out. This year, Indonesia featured a pavilion covering an area of 324 square meters with 36 booths under the theme (tourism) destination in East Java. Some of the East Java tourism icons have been promoted among other architecture of the Rumah Majapahit, Wringin Lawang temple, including the Mount Bromo landscape and the blue fire of Mount Ijen. Rizki further stated that Indonesia considers Malaysia as the main market of its tourism. MATTA Fair is the largest exhibition in Malaysia, with more than 100 thousand people visiting the three-day exhibition.
