Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique to be played here

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Percussion Ensemble of the Music and Choreography College will perform at the State Philharmonic Hall on March 14-15. To promote world and national classic music to the community, the Ensemble has been organizing its annual ‘Composition’ concert since 2007. This time, the Ensemble is planning to play here Symphonie fantastique by Hector Berlioz for the first time in percussions. The performance will also include of pieces of national classical music named after the four seasons – summer (by Ts.Sukhbaatar), autumn (by G.Birvaa), winter (by S.Gonchigsumlaa) and spring (by J.Sharaa). Symphonie fantastique or Fantastic Symphony is an important piece of the early Romantic period, and is popular with concert audiences worldwide. The first performance was at the Paris Conservatoire in December 1830. The work was repeatedly revived between 1831 and 1845 and subsequently became a favourite in Paris.
