BKKBN Told To Make FP Program Success

Jakarta, Jan 30 (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono has asked the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) to do its utmost to make the country`s family planning program a success. "Control the population growth by making the family planning program a success," he said after attending a national working meeting on demography and family planning at the BKKBN office here on Wednesday. To ensure the success of the family planning program, the BKKBN ranks and files both at regional and central levels should always establish strategic partnership with various parties, he said. In addition, they also need to public empowerment movements such as integrated health service post (posyandu) and family planning at district and municipal levels, he said. The minister further asked the BKKBN to evaluate the implementation of family planning program and find inputs in working out guide to the implementation of the program to better ensure the success of the program in the future, he said. "We do hope the BKKBN ranks and files would continue to have the high spirit of providing advocacy, familiarizing the public with the regional governments` policies, and giving better services to the public by strengthening family planning institution," he said. "The BKKBN ranks and files also need to implement good governance by putting an emphasis on the transparency and accountability of the family planning program and financial administration to achieve unqualified opinion," he said. To achieve the unqualified opinion they could among other eliminate various budget deviation and improve work ethic, he said.
