Blast at Thailand's Army Ordnance Department injures five

BANGKOK, February 9 (TNA) - At least five people have been injured in an explosion at the Royal Thai Army's Ordnance Department in Bangkok on Monday morning. Royal Thai Army Spokesman Colonel Winthai Suvari told journalists that the blast, at about 10am, took place when military technicians were dismantling an RPG launcher but there was a grenade stuck inside and it led to the explosion. The spokesman stated that five military technicians were reportedly injured at the scene and were rushed to a nearby hospital. The spokesman insisted that the incident took place inside the Army Ordnance Department's compound in the capital's Bang Sue area and did not affect any outside area. According to the spokesman, the five injured military personnel were later confirmed safe. (TNA)
