Blessed mineral water provided for Songkran celebrants

RANONG, THAILAND, April 11 (TNA) - Ranong Province in the Thai South is providing over 200,000 litres of blessed mineral water for Songkran celebrants, the only Thai province to do so, aimed to draw in more tourists and promote healthy tourism. Ranong Governor Suriyan Karnchanasin told journalists on Saturday that his province is the only one in Thailand to use the mineral water for the ongoing Songkran or the Traditional Thai New Year celebration. Meanwhile, Pairat Ampawanont, the province's municipal clerk, in his capacity as Acting Muang Ranong Mayor, said his province is famous for its natural hot springs with no trace of sulfur and recognised as a natural gift, making the hot springs one of the top three in the world; so, his province has blessed the water for celebrants of the ongoing Songkran or the Traditional Thai New Year Festival, both Thais and foreign visitors, and for people to pour on the palms of the elderly for blessings.
