Bloomsbury Qatar to Launch Qatari Novelist's Book

Doha, November 23 (QNA) - Bloomsbury Qatar Foundation Publishing (BQFP) today announced it will launch on Monday a new book 'The Holy Sail' written by Qatari novelist Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud. At the launch the celebrated journalist and author will discuss his second novel Monday evening (November 24) at Hamad Bin Khalifa Universitys Student Centre Cinema, Education City. A gripping tale of an often neglected period of history in the Arabian Gulf, 'The Holy Sail' is a historical fiction that guides the reader around the medieval world of Lisbon, Cairo, Jeddah and Istanbul. Al Mahmoud uses meticulous historical research methods while at the same time brilliantly weaving a tale of love, honour and nobility. The novelist is former Chief Editor of Al Sharq and The Peninsula newspapers as well as www.aljazeera.net Qatar Universitys Head of the Gulf Studies Center Dr Abdullah Baabood will moderate the book launch in Arabic. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during the launch, with a special book signing being held at Tribe Bookstore in the Student Centre. BQFP is a member of Qatar for Education, Science and Community Development (QF).
