Blue Bird Launches Special Taxi Service For Disabled

Jakarta, Sept 11 (Antara) - Transportation services company PT Blue Bird has launched "Blue Bird Lifecare Taxi" service, which has been specifically designed to serve disabled customers, stated the company`s President Director, Purnomo Prawiro. "This new service by the Blue Bird Group provides accessibility to the disabled in Jakarta to travel safely, comfortably, and easily," Purnomo noted while launching the Blue Bird Lifecare Taxi service in the presence of Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama at the Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday. He pointed out that the special taxi service for disabled passengers was designed and equipped with customized automatic seats to facilitate easier access. "That way, we hope that we can serve the disabled, pregnant women, and the elderly as best as we can," Prawiro remarked. Meanwhile, Basuki, the Jakarta deputy governor, better known as Ahok, stated that Jakarta was lucky to have a new special taxi service for disabled, expectant mothers, and senior citizens. "Moreover, if the fare is affordable and the service is good, I believe more and more people will use the taxi service to reduce traffic congestion in the capital city," Ahok noted. On Wednesday, the Blue Bird Group launched five Lifecare taxis, and in the near future, the number will be increased in accordance with the demand. Lifecare taxis have a flagfall rate of Rp seven thousand with Rp3.6 thousand for every subsequent kilometer and Rp42 thousand per hour as waiting fare.
