BMA pilots I-Classroom project at four schools

BANGKOK, July 11 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has presented tablet computers to fourth-grade students of four pilot schools in the captial, as part of its I-Classroom project. Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra Wednesday visited Na Luang School in the city's Thung Khru district to inspect the project. The school is one of the four pilot schools under the BMA's smart or I-Classroom initiative launched with the conjunction with the local private sector. The others are Prachaniwet, Rittiyawannarai, and Pathumwanaram Schools. According to the Bangkok Governor, 40 tablet computers are given to students of each fourth-grade class of the four pilot schools. The tablets are installed with different operating system (OS), namely Window 8, Window 7, Android and Ipad, so that the BMA can assess which OS is the most suitable for the students' learning. The governor insisted, if the pilot project proved to be successful, the BMA would later acquire tablets with the most appropriately-advance OS system for students of schools under the City Authority's jurisdiction despite higher prices, compared to those presented under the government’s One Tablet Per Child Program.
