BMA presents 2011 city’s top toilets award

BANGKOK, February 22 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has awarded top toilet titles to local firms and agencies whose public toilet services met international standards in 2011. Bangkok Deputy Governor Dr. Malinee Sukvejvorakij presided over a ceremony Wednesday to present the BMA award 2011 to 10 winners in the Thai capital, including religious places, gas stations, restaurants, hospitals, shopping centres, government offices, tourist attractions, public parks and educational institutes. The competition was part of the BMA's campaign on clean and safe public toilets in the capital. In 2012, BMA is carrying on the same campaign and is promoting proper use of public toilets, especially at gas stations throughout the capital, for the sake of people's good health and improved quality of life, as well as recovering national tourism, with more private business operators encouraged to join in the city's initiative.
