BNN Holds Anti-Drug Counseling

Jakarta, Nov 24 (Antara) - The National Narcotics Board (BNN) in cooperation with numerous public organizations held an anti-drug counseling program here on Sunday in a bid to eradicate drug circulation and abuse, said BNN Chief Anang Iskandar. According to him, more than 2 thousand people participated in the program that was aimed at spreading awareness about the ways to handle drug abuse cases in the country. "Drug users are currently sentenced to imprisonment, but it is not an appropriate solution because the problem of drug abuse is an endless matter," he noted. Anang remarked that the appropriate treatment for a substance abuser is rehabilitation. "Drug abuse and circulation are getting out of hand and therefore serious steps should be taken to free Indonesia of drugs," he noted.
