Book "Khojaly Witness of a war crime – Armenia in the Dock" launches in London

London, July 2 AZERTAC A book titled "Khojaly Witness of a war crime – Armenia in the Dock" has been presented in London, UK. Organized by The European Azerbaijan Society, the event saw opening remarks by Member of British Parliament Bob Blackman. The MP highlighted non-fulfillment of the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He called the Khojaly massacre great injustice against Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Tahir Taghizade provided an insight into Khojaly massacre, saying vandalism perpetrated in Khojaly is highlighted even in the books published in Armenia. The diplomat stressed the importance of the book, saying "Nagorno-Karabakh is and will remain our main problem unless it is solved." Editor of the book Ian Peart said he came across terrible facts while exploring the official documents about the Khojaly massacre. He also expressed hope that perpetrators of the Khojaly massacre would face the full force of the law. The book "Khojaly Witness of a war crime Armenia in the Dock" is the first independent book published in English in the West about the Khojaly Genocide. The book includes interviews with witnesses of the Khojaly events, materials of international periodical press about the tragedy, comments of foreign researchers, reports of international organizations and rare photos taken by foreign photographers. The UK launched of the first independent publication to be published in English in the West about the Khojaly Massacre – the worst single atrocity of the Armenian–Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, which claimed the lives of 613 civilians on 26 February 1992.
