Boosting labour gains, stability stressed

Manama, July 26 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan today received the Executive Board Chairman of Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr), Yaqoub Yousef Hassan. They discussed boosting the existing cooperation between the ministry and workers' trade unions in Bahrain and to consolidate social dialogue between the three production partners to preserve workers gains and interests achieved by the kingdom in this field in addition to supporting constructive initiatives aimed at reinforcing the values of productive work and developing work environment as well as increasing productivity in the private sector establishments. The minister expressed his comfort with the level of cooperation between the ministry and Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (BFLUF) considering the atmosphere of trust prevalent in the relationships between the workers trade unions in the preceding period have contributed to focusing the efforts to boost labour market stability and development. In the same context, Minister Humaidan urged to intensification of cooperation to maintain the economic and social gains in the kingdom. He stressed that the economic challenges make it imperative on all to rally around these gains and to boost and launch constructive national initiatives aimed to boost the rate of employment in the private sector. From his side, Yaqoub praised the level of cooperation between the ministry and Al Hurr (BFLUF) stressing its keenness on reinforcing the progress of trade unions in the Kingdom of Bahrain that reflect the extent of its development and its positive role in achieving and securing workers interests and its contribution in laboour market stability and its development in the kingdom, in addition to increasing the efforts aimed at boosting Bahrain's position and defending its interests both regionally and internationally.
