Bosnian Deputy Prime Minister thanks U.A.E. for flood victim aid

Sarajevo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dr. Zlatko Lagumdzija, extended his thanks and appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation, for the rapid relief aid provided by the United Arab Emirates for the victims of floods that have recently hit Bosnia and Herzegovina. The move comes as a reflection of the U.A.E.'s approach and its leadership to provide a helping hand to those affected by disasters anywhere in the world. Dr. Lagumdzija, during a meeting with a delegation from the Khalifa Foundation and representatives from the U.A.E. Embassy in Sarajevo, said that his country extended its appreciation to the U.A.E.'s leadership, government and people on this humanitarian initiative and expressed its readiness to provide all that would facilitate the distribution of aid to beneficiaries in the affected areas. He stressed that the purchase of the necessary equipment and needs from the local market in Bosnia and Herzegovina will contribute to the promotion of the local economy. The U.A.E.'s delegation discussed with Bosnian officials ways to provide emergency assistance to citizens in areas affected by floods, which have been described as the worst in a century. – Emirates News Agency, WAM –
