BRICS deputy foreign ministers to meet in Moscow in April-May

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Deputy foreign ministers of the BRICS emerging market nations will meet in Moscow in the next two months, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s special envoy, Vadim Lukov, said on Monday. Strategic ambition for the assembly of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa was to gradually transform it into a mechanism of partnership in global policy and economics. This would allow the bloc to become an operating element of the global management system, he said. Russia, currently chairing the group, "hopes together with its partners to make a big step in that direction", the diplomat said, noting plans to focus on "BRICS efforts to ensure strategic stability and settle regional conflicts, primarily in North Africa and the Middle East". "In view of this, consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the BRICS countries will be held in Moscow in April-May this year," Lukov said. Read more
